A day in Kuji
After a good sleep, i went for breakfast as always.......
weather was ok. at least it wasn't raining.
since we booked a jumbo taxi at 10:30, i got 30min and went to the DVD and toy shop. this was probably my only chance. the stores are huge.
Nodame.... when will we be able to watch it?? and i've never seens a yellow NDSI.... so pretty.
Our hotel the tall one at the back.
The taxi sent us right to the enterence of the amber museum.
Unexpectedly crowded........ we thought we were the only visitors. let's see what the museum got. Since cousin M is an amber fans, the manager of the museum let us enter for free and acc us all the way. he also hired a translater for us.
besides the main museum hall, we also went into cage where they used to dug amber there.
at the entrance of main all, you can step on the item shown on the floor and they will react.
after long walk through the museum, we got to the gift shop.
they got orginal pieces of amber... so big so heavy..... 1KG and 0.56KG
and they got beautiful watches, too. aunties and cousin got 1 each. they got an amber face. very pretty.
then we went for lunch in the meseum. the food was very nice, too.
Auntie's main course, fish; and mine, hamburger.
The restaurant is located and a beautiful and quite area.
after eating, we went back to the gift shop for more shopping.................... then the manager offered to drive us around. how nice.
on the way out, we passed by a russian shop and the manager bought us ice cream.
he drove us to places where they dig amber in the area.
then he drove us to see the biggest amber in the world. it was discovered in kuji. the piece of stone is stored in the kuji city hall. and we can see whole kuji from the top floor.
The guide was with us all the time. she said she was happy to see chinese here in japan. she suggested us to goto the sea shore. hence the manager drove us again.
then we went to see another piece of stone by a cliff.....
if we weren't with them, with cars, no way we can get to the road... and stop on the road, get off car and walk by the cliff.
the car at the back is from museum, in front is the guide's husband's car.
then we went further and got to a place where people get uni.
these women are preparing uni for festival next day.
the water was so clear and clean, we could see crabs by the shore.
see the temple? it is actually very far from where we stood. it is on the mountain in the middle....
Mr. manager then drove us to Tofukan to join a festival. a small one.
it was crowded......... they are students from local high school.
I played and got a water gun and a toy. not bad.
then........... almost 6.......... the manager finally drove us to a jap restaurent for local food..... then he left. they got work at night for the bigger festival.
Dinner was treated by the guide's husband. they were so sincere, they ordered alot of food for us until we can't eat anymore......
We heard this is called sea pineapple.
sashimi ship... so big..... the meat was still reflacting silver green color.
anago with salt and sweet source. i like the salted one.
this egg roll is sweet and juicy.
the soup was made of remainings of the sashimi ship.
we were too full we decided to walk back to the hotel......
very long but exciting day. thanks to the manager, shiden san, the guide, Mrs. suzuki and her husband Mr. suzuki, they even invited us for lunch next day...... so nice.
