Make it USB Powered
I have a small fan from the MTR, toy story..... toy kinda fan...... need 2xAA batts to make it work... getting bored with changing the batts from time to time.
Let me make it powered with USB so that I can put it on desk by the comp.
open the bottom and see how it is wired. The wires are sooooo thin..... so badly soldered....
Make a damp on the plastic case with solder iron for cable coming out. Disconnect wires from the battery box. So simple... just batt(+) --- switch---- fan motor --- batt(-)
Solder them to a longer cable.
wrap the ugly red/black cable with nest tube........ I only got a neon green on in this size.......
Black heat soak tube to protect the cable from banding and breaking.
The other side of the ugly cable has to be connected to a USB plug.
Is this too simple? plug it into a USB socket.
with 2 x AA batts = 1.5v x 2 = 3v,
USB = 5v, the voltage is abit higher hence the fan works abit faster. I believe it can bear this voltage fine~ Hope it can last longer. I like this fan alot~~
