  • My new MP4 player - Sony X1051

    MP3... or MP4 player. I haven't had such a thing for over 6, 7yrs.....

    Previous one was a tiny one, with no display, 256MB internal memory, taking MMC card.

    Then I spent my life without MP3 player, depending on my mobile as my music player....

    Later I got the Skullcandy double agent MP3 player + headphone in 1........ it's just not handy.......

    Dislike Sony as much as Apple, I finally put myself to Sony walkman side against Apple i series.


    I was looking for mp3 player since I go SB, is too dull on the mountain alone, SB-ing.....

    Friend B brought me to sony style shop to browse sony walkman, i couldn't make up my mind to get a E series or A series.... or S series.... There is a reason...... Fate....

    Searching on the internet i saw something called X-series. is a 30yrs anniversary thing of Sony. This was love at first sight.

    Hong Kong was out of stock, i had to get it from the US. luck that they are instock. But it took 2,3 weeks to get to me...............

    Model number X1051, this is US version. HK version: X1050, 32GB ones are called X1060, X1061.

    Something more from the US version, it got slacker online radio built in. X series... so cool.


    Take off the wrapping cardboard, see the sony~

    open the box and see the MP4 player there.

    Major control button on the top. with 3.5MM jacket.

    Connector to USB. For data transfer and charging.

    There is a dock~~

    It looks so good on the dock.
     

    It comes with a high quality headphone, too.... but sorry i couldn't use a plug in earphone.

    the batt was empty so i gotta charge it up before start playing.

    And upgrading firmware to v1.10.

    See~~~ v1.10. Memory 14GB, this is a 16GB version. 32 GB (x1061) cost another USD100.

    It's lovely~

    Some spec: it support WIFI, can go directly onto Youtube for videos, podcast, slacker online radio, play videos but haven't try this yet. Most important function, music playing. It was good, got noise canceling function which reduce alot of noise from MP3s.

    Let me start playing with it after it is completely charged.
